SALIK SYSTEM

Salik is an electronic toll system used in Dubai, and its name means "open" in Arabic. Managed by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), it provides seamless passage on the city's major highways. RFID tags (Salik tags) attached to vehicles enable automatic toll deduction upon passage.

Toll Fees and Application Details

• Standard toll fee at all crossing points: 4 AED
• Fee is charged per crossing; there is no daily fee limit.
• The previous daily limit of 24 AED has been removed as of July 15, 2013.
• Payment is automatically deducted from your prepaid Salik account.

Dubai will have a total of 10 active Salik crossing points as of 2025:
1. Al Barsha
2. Al Garhoud Bridge
3. Al Maktoum Bridge
4. Al Mamzar North
5. Al Mamzar South
6. Al Safa
7. Al Safa South
8. Airport Tunnel
9. Business Bay Crossing
10. Jebel Ali

Transition Exceptions and Free Hours

• Al Maktoum Bridge is free of charge every day between 22:00 and 06:00.
• For crossings between Al Safa and Al Safa South toll booths in the same direction within one hour, a single toll fee is charged.

Salik Label and Balance Management

• The Salik tag can be obtained from petrol stations, online platforms, or authorized centers in Dubai.
• The tag must be properly affixed to the vehicle's windshield.
• A fine may be applied if the tag reading process fails.
• Balance should be checked regularly and topped up through official channels such as the Salik app, Careem, and bank applications.
